Our mission statement is "The Royal Harbour Academy is a proud community built upon success, high aspirations and a global outlook."
Our aim is that every student at the Royal Harbour Academy gains life skills and qualifications that will allow them to lead happy and fulfilled lives whether their next steps are in education, employment or further training. It is good to know that year on year all of our students either stay on in our sixth form, go to other local schools or secure full time employment in the workplace. Having previously been Headteacher at Dane Court Grammar School, I am pleased that the school is part of the Coastal Academies Trust, which not only includes Dane Court Grammar School but a number of other local schools. This provides benefits to both students and staff through, amongst other things, collaboration and exchange of good practice. Like myself, the Trust is determined that every child has real success and the schools work collaboratively to achieve this aim.
The leavers prom was held at Dreamland Margate this year. Our Prom Committee worked very hard to make this years prom the best yet! Nearly 100 students danced the night away after riding the Big Wheel and the Chair-O-Plane in the glorious Margate sunshine. All the students looked absolutely amazing in their finery and behaved impeccably.
Assembling after school on the 22nd March, two teams from Dane Court and Royal Harbour sought battle on the fields of online game League of Legends. Both teams, consisting of five players each have been practising for months in anticipation of their first encounter against each other. Fun was had by all, including many spectators on a big screen, both teachers and pupils came to watch the event.
Students from RHA recently volunteered their help for the Safety In Action Week at Dreamland. The school has received glowing praise for their effort and behaviour, and below we share a letter sent to us from the organisers.
