Music
"Music is fundamental - one of the great sources of life, health, strength and happiness" - Luther Burbank
Vision Statement
The Music curriculum at the Royal Harbour Academy aims to inspire, excite, engage and enrich young people in all aspects of Music.
Curriculum Overview
Throughout the curriculum we cover performing, listening, appraising and composition through a wide variety of practical activities.
The Music department has a range of instruments which the students are encouraged to use regularly. The Music department also has a set of Apple Mac laptops which are used throughout the academic year to enable students to compose and experience some of the more technological aspects of Music.
Cultural Capital
Through the use and creativity of Music students are encouraged to identify and explore their feelings and emotions. Students focus on communication through music as a globally recognised concept and are encouraged to create their own Music which is able to communicate feelings and emotions.
