Elizabethan Culture Workshop

On the last day of term 4, a group of students were involved in an Elizabethan culture workshop in class as part of their history syllabus. They learned about Elizabethan forms of entertainment and embedded existing knowledge of William Shakespeare and his plays. They explored the design of the Globe theatre and the differences and similarities to the theatres we are more familiar with today.

The students worked well together, showing great perseverance and communication skills, as they built their very own miniature Globe Theatre from a given 2D net image.

Mrs Prince said, "We were so delighted with their effort and engagement, that the English and the History department would like to plan a student trip to London to visit the replica Elizabethan Globe theatre-built in 1997."
