The Royal Harbour

Academy

London Marathon 2023

This year one of The Royal Harbour Academy’s own ran the 26.2 miles around the nation’s capital! Mr Goodall has been training since January in preparation; mostly through the dark winter months and every week around the track at school. Ably assisted by both staff and students he completed the course, his first marathon, in 4 hours, 50 minutes and 18 seconds!

As well as embracing a personal challenge the charismatic Northerner ran to raise money for Get Kids Going; a charity that supports disabled children to get into, and enjoy, sport. A worthy cause and perfect for anyone working to create opportunities for young people. You can track his journey and perhaps make a donation by clicking the following link:

The London Marathon is an extraordinary event. Mr Goodall said “I’ve experienced exhaustion and euphoria in equal measure, it was both grueling physically, and uplifting emotionally! I am really moved by all the support I’ve received from my fellow staff members and the amazing students at the Royal Harbour Academy. I am proud and grateful to be part of our community.”

We are delighted to share that four of our teachers have entered the ballot for next year’s race!

Roll on London 2024!
