A number of Year 10 students from The Royal Harbour Academy were lucky to be invited to attend the National Fruit Show at the County Showground in Detling on the 2nd November.
The students met with representatives from the LEAF education team and took part in mini workshops learning about various roles in the fruit farming industry, from engineers working on machinery, scientists and computer scientists. It was during these workshops that the students were joined by the Duchess of Wessex, where Her Majesty spoke with some of our students about what they had learnt.
The students showed they are good enquirer's asking many questions at the exhibition stands. One student asked "with all of the talk around the fruit farming industry being a growing industry, how do you see the industry developing when more and more houses are being built?"
