The Royal Harbour

Academy

Sixth Form Induction

The Royal Harbour Sixth Form was buzzing with excitement as we welcomed students from The Royal Harbour Academy and other schools and colleges for the first day of our induction programme. It was a fantastic opportunity for prospective students to immerse themselves in the vibrant academic and social life that our Sixth Form offers.

The day kicked off with a warm welcome, setting a positive tone for what was to come. Students were eager and ready to engage, taking the initiative to interact and form connections with their peers. The morning was dedicated to a series of taster lessons across a wide range of subjects, giving students a glimpse into the diverse and enriching curriculum at The Royal Harbour Sixth Form.

Students explored the depths of the mind in Psychology, solved challenging problems in Maths, delved into the world of Film, expressed their creativity in Music and Art, uncovered the secrets of life in Biology, journeyed through time in History, refined their language skills in English, and even tackled the complexities of Japanese. In addition to the International Baccalaureate (IB) subjects, students experienced the practical and career-oriented learning offered through our BTEC courses. They discovered the intricacies of Health and Social Care, the discipline of the Uniformed Protective Service, the dynamics of Business Studies, and the exciting world of E-sports.

After an engaging morning of academic exploration, students gathered for a lively BBQ lunch, where they had the chance to relax and socialise in a more informal setting. This was followed by an afternoon of team-building activities designed to enhance their communication and collaboration skills.

The enthusiasm and participation of the students made the first day of induction a resounding success. We are excited for what lies ahead on day two, where we will take both our prospective and current Sixth Formers to Thorpe Park. This trip promises to be an exhilarating experience, fostering communication, collaboration, and the spirit of taking risks in a fun and dynamic environment.

We look forward to continuing this journey with our new and returning students, building a strong, supportive, and innovative community at The Royal Harbour Sixth Form.
