On 19th January Year 12 IB visual arts students from Royal Harbour Academy took part in a creative workshop run by Turner Contemporary. It was based on cooperation, communication and inquiry. It was an introduction to their annual portfolio competition.
The first task was to create a racehorse using newsprint and masking tape. The students had to do this without talking to each other, which they managed really well, using sign language and mime! The next task was to make a group sculpture using thick card and strong paper straws. The Year 12 students were a credit to the school and it was great fun. It will make a good addition to their process portfolios!
